I grew up surrounded by dilapidated buildings with peeling paint that peeled off in layers like snake skin. The images from my memories inspire me to create work that conveys the fragility of life and change through tactile sensations. As a former pianist, I value not only visual but also tactile perception. To achieve this, I use heavy watercolor paper with a rough texture and Polaroid emulsion that easily disintegrates under my fingers. Using the Polaroid emulsion lift technique, I transfer the images onto the paper and add watercolor paints, semi-transparent colored flash filters, and shards of mirror.
